Step into your Greatness and don’t feel guilty about it

Step into your Greatness and don't feel guilty about it. Why your personal success is going to help save the world

What is really important in life and how do I make the most of it?

I have always been ambitious. Even in my darkest days, I always knew that there had to be more to life. There was, and continues to be. That is the thing with perspective - your world is as small or as big as you perceive it to be.

Ambition, success, wanting it all, gets bad press. This can sometimes be wrongly connected to being selfish, narcissistic or greedy. Another myth is that if we have abundance, someone else is always going to suffer. We tend to internalise these beliefs, which can make us feel guilty, with a need to justify ourselves, even creating obstacles and sabotaging our efforts to move forward.

Here is another reality: abundance and being a nice person are not exclusive from each other. It’s perfectly possible to combine the two!

Like money, ambition is neutral. It is our intention, reasoning and method that will determine the outcome.

It is our birthright to live meaningful, healthy, purposeful, abundant lives, and once we start the journey to remove the blocks to this, not only do we personally benefit - so does the world.

Read on to find out why…

What do you want?

Put aside your fears, judgement and worries about the ‘how to’ for this exercise and ask yourself the following questions:

What do I want to have?

What do I want to be?

What do I want my contribution to the world to be?

If I gained all of the above, what would be the benefit to myself, others and the world around me?

Here’s 3 reasons why the world needs you to succeed:

Happy, fulfilled, whole people make the world a better place

Once you have mastered yourself (both past and present) and are living a meaningful life, you will want to share your success with others.

If we are unhappy, frustrated, or suffering from the lack of something, it is difficult to focus upon others or world causes because so much energy is being taken up with what is going on in our own heads.. This is where we could place narcissism, greed, violence, etc - acting as an armor protecting what is hurting or believed to be lacking.

On the other hand, if we have abundant mindsets, this can impact the world in a positive way. It´s a natural progression when we believe we have the knowledge, resources and energy and want to share it.

Stimulation, progress and growth is an essential psychological need

If we are to thrive, we need the right conditions to grow.

Let’s simplify it. If we are honest with ourselves, we all want progression. It is basic human instinct to want to experience and progress- like a flower that grows towards the sun. If this isn’t met in a healthy way, it will be met in a dysfunctional way. Think of that plant experiment that you did in school, when it wasn’t given enough light: it grew anyway, but became all spindly, pale and long, trying to find its way to the light.

Success, innovation and empowerment progresses society as a whole

By sharing our passions with the world, we add new options to the global pot, adding understanding and knowledge that can drive society, and set up new systems of thought for future generations.

Given that we are unique individuals with different abilities, strengths and life experiences, we will each view the world in a different way. If we do not follow our passions and call in life, not only will it be a boring and frustrating journey, we will also be preventing others from benefiting on what we have to share, which might be just the inspiration they need.

This month’s affirmation:

“As I honour the potential in myself, so I begin to see the light in others”

Love, Ismene xxx
